About Me
I was born and raised in Caledonia, where I spent most of my time playing with the animals and exploring my best friends farm.
After high-school I attended Brock University where I majored in Business Communication and completed a minor in Economics.
I now work for a large consumer packaged goods company in Mississauga, where I have the exciting opportunity to lead their innovation agenda.
Brian (my Boyfriend) and I enjoy the slower pace and privacy of a small town so in late 2018 we bought a house with a bit of property just outside of Caledonia.
We love to travel and experience new things together, including any excuse to make the trip down south to cheer on the Buffalo Bills (win or lose). Most recently we have been spending our time together working on renovating our new love-nest!
I am also a Humanist. Essentially I believe that all people should be treated fairly and evenly (check it out - Humanism is a beautiful thing). I love public speaking and being around people (in love).
My goal in life is to spread love and is to focus on the positive in every situation.
What Made You Become A Celebrant?
I Love People & I Love Love!
As someone who loves love I have always been drawn to weddings. They are such a personal and pivotal moment in any couples relationship. I jumped at the opportunity to bring my wide range of inter-personal, and public speaking skills to any couples special day. My friendly and professional style allows me to flex the ceremony to best match the requests of the happy couple. Performing a wedding is such an emotional and exciting experience and it is truly humbling to be involved.
How Do You Spend Your Personal Time?
Traveling, Relaxing & Loving
When I am away from weddings and work I love to be outdoors and to relax, by either enjoying a beverage on a patio listen to live music or at home watching TV. I am lucky to live only about 15 minutes from my parents so I get to spend as much time with them as possible. While on vacation Brian (my boyfriend) and I love to travel and experience new things together, including frequent trips to Florida to visit Brian's parents and walk along the beach. We successfully completed our first road-trip to Nashville, where we spent our time sampling Nashville's finest music, food, drinks and culture.
What Is A Humanist?
Equality For All
Humanism is the idea that all people are equal and deserve to be treated fairly no matter their race, ethnicity, sexual preference, or status. We rely on science based thinking and I have been an active Humanist for over 3 years. A Humanist wedding is a non-religious ceremony that gives you the opportunity to marry where you want, when you want and how you want. Humanist ceremonies can be whatever you would like, there are no restrictions (other than the legal stuff) and they typically focus on the couples love!
